Summer Harvest
The temperature has been rising and the sun seems to refuse to go away (not my ideal weather), yet we must embrace what we’re given, the seasons we’re dealt; it’s summer. When it’s hot out, I lean towards the clear liquors, so I’ve gone with Tanqueray Gin and a martini as my base. Summer makes me think of harvesting fruit, so I have added some Calvados (apple brandy), a bit of tartness with some Lemoncello and a berry element with a splash of Crème de Cassis. With so much sweetness I needed to quell it with some Dry Vermouth.
HOW TO MAKE
2oz Tanqueray Gin
1oz. Dry Vermouth
.5oz Calvados
.5oz Lemoncello
1 barspoon of Crème de Cassis
Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker, fill with ice and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds. Strain into a martini glass.
